From 5 o’clock you can experience Osaka’s huge Kaiyukan Aquarium (the world’s biggest public aquarium) at night. The exhibits are illuminated by blue lighting and it’s as if you are spending time with the sealife under the light of the moon which is all very beautiful. It’s also very quite and peaceful in there.
Our children were impressed by the scale of the aquarium. It’s several stories high and you start your trip by ascending to the top via a multi-storeyed escalator. They also loved seeing the penguins, patting real live sharks, and seeing the massive whale shark (it’s apparently the largest in captivity).
